Park City Singers wishes to express our thanks to Summit County RAP Grant Committee and to Summit County citizens for their support of the RAP tax.

The Park City Singers is a community choir welcome to all, and they are currently recruiting new members!

Renee Mox Hall, member of the Park City Singers explains, “As a non-audition choir, beginners are welcome and not all members read music. Newer vocalists benefit from singing with those with more experience. All members receive a CD recording of their part which is also very instrumental to learning music. Choir membership is a learning experience for members, a contribution to and connection with the community and an avenue to new friendships.”

All ages are encouraged to get involved. Renee notes “the oldest member is past 80 years old and the youngest member in last year’s choir was 13 years old. Maya is younger than most but was a great addition to the choir, singing with her mother. the choir has offered to sponsor five students each from Park City High School and South Summit High School requiring only a music deposit fee and attendance to rehearsals. We encourage participation by mature high school students 16 years age and up.”

The choir presents two concerts for the holiday season. “In recent years in Spring the choir joined the Inter Faith Council’s performances of Messiah or other works and added to the choir for American West Symphony’s performances of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and Carmina Burana. Christmas Eve 2018 a group from Park City Singers caroled at Waldorf Astoria and Hyatt Centric and Canyons. After completing our concerts, Singers are available to aid other choral groups in their productions” according to Renee.

Rehearsals are held at Park City Community Church, 4501 Highway 224 behind Park City Nursery. The church is also the location for their two Holiday Concerts held in December. Rehearsals are every Tuesday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM beginning in September. In terms of time commitment, Renee breaks it down, “I count 17 rehearsals plus a dress rehearsal equals 36 hours of group rehearsals, plus 2 concerts. Total time commitment is about 40 hours of group rehearsal and performance. Members are also expected to know the music well enough to watch the director (not memorized but not looking for every note either). that requires additional time listening to the CD or practicing the music on their own.”
